Garianno Lorenzo: The Nat King Cole and Natalie Cole Collaboration

Garianno Lorenzo operates Giant Media, Inc., as Chief Executive Officer. The company recently developed innovative technology that allows people to recreate original and impeccable audio authorships of any human voice using only a brief voice sample. The technology developed by Lorenzo and the team at Giant Media gives performing artists the opportunity to sing original compositions with legendary recording artists, even after their deaths, without infringing copyrights.

Nat King Cole released an extremely successful cover of Irving Gordon’s beloved song “Unforgettable” in 1951. He passed away in 1965, and this recording was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2000. In 1991, music director Joe Guercio suggested a remix of Cole’s later 1961 recording of the song as a duet with his daughter Natalie. The result was a resounding success, with the duet winning Best Traditional Pop Vocal Performance, Song of the Year, and Record of the Year at the 1992 Grammy Awards. The song also sat at the top of the Billboard 200 Chart on July 27, 1991, received enormous radio exposure, and was instrumental in generating sales of more than 8 million copies of Natalie Cole’s album.

Natalie Cole had the chance to honor her father’s memory and received the rare opportunity to perform with him long after his death. This is the type of opportunity Garianno Lorenzo hopes to create for all recording artists who want to sing original songs with their idols.
